I proceeded to pick up the TV remote and, sure enough, I had complete control over the Plex Player using the TV remote. This particular TV is equipped with Anynet+ (Samsung's implementation of HDMI-CEC, back when this TV was new, dunno if they call it something different now) so, when I plugged in my freshly flashed "Plex Player" the TV turned on automatically.
(couple speed bumps involving WiFi, but that's not why I'm here) I got it all working and hooked it up to my little (32 inch, I believe) TV and had a pleasant surprise. I recently flashed my Raspberry PI 3B+ with the Plex media player image. Great news for people like me who just can’t shake. RasPlex is a open, platform-independent home entertainment system (so you can play media from any of the machines you have cluttering up the house using the RasPlex media server.
